Think about your future. Explain how writing will be important to your life. Explain what types of writing you will be responsible for, and how important it will be for you to show proficiency. Will you be typing essays for college, e-mails for an employer, flyers for your own garage sale? Think realistically! :)

At this moment I need to know the best way to write short essays for scholarships. For most scholarships the committee looks at the essays more then what the seniors have done while in high school. I need to write the best essays I can so I can get help for paying for college. After high school I will be writing essays and papers in college for the next four years of my life. I need to know how to write academic papers that will help me get the good grades I need to be getting while attending a university. The better I write the papers the better my grades will become, so I really need to learn the very best ways to write the best papers possible. I will also need to know how to write well when I find a job because I might have to send emails to my boss about things that are happening at work. After I graduate college, I will need to know the best ways to write because if I stay in the major I am planning on having, I will be teaching elementary students how to write. These students need to learn the best ways to write, and if I do not know how to write correctly it will not help them. I need to make sure I teach them the best way so they can become the best writers they can become. (WC- 241)
ReplyDeleteWriting is an important part of everyday life. This is because writing is a form of communication and we live off of it. The only way people will take your opinions seriously is if you write them both truthfully and intellectually. People are easily persuaded, but the persuasion may not put them in your direction if you do not present yourself well. If you are trying to give instructions through writing you need to be able to write detailed yet simple ways of doing things so that people can understand. When writing for a newspaper or magazine you are writing to bring people enjoyment. To do this effectively the writer needs to be able to make their writings both informative and fun. They cannot just write all information with no input. However, the writer cannot make it completely bias and rude. When writing make sure you are in a good frame of mind. If you are angry or upset your writing will reflect that. If you are angry at a co-worker and need to email your boss, the email may seem a little mean because you were not ready to talk to anyone. That would not be good! In the future I hope to be using a lot of writing. I plan to go to college and become an English teacher. Writing will be important because if I don’t know how to write how am I going to teach young people how to write? Word Count: 244
ReplyDeleteCommunicating and being able to communicate well are very important in our world. Those who can communicate and communicate well have a future in our society. In the present/near future I will be writing essays for scholarship money, applications for schools, and the usual English assessments. If I am unable to write/communicate well enough I am leaving thousands of dollars on the line with the scholarships, I am risking not being accepted into a college, and I risk running my English grade through the floor which not only causes trouble at home but more importantly on my transcripts that go to those scholarship committees and the colleges in which I am applying to. Thus if I fail in my writing/communication skills I am impacting what may become of myself. I will need even better communication skills when I leave college for in my late future I plan to pursue a business degree and in that field communication is everything. Business is a worldwide job and not being able to communicate with all types of people would put you at a severe disadvantage to all other businessmen. One cannot survive in the business world if they are unable to communicate with people of all types of cultures and languages. You also have to be professional but be on a level that everyone is able to understand what you are saying. I will need communication skills throughout my entire life if I wish to be successful.

Communicating in this time of the world is very important. It is basically the only way you can survive this world is if you can communicate and a good communicator back. I am writing for the English and other things that I may need throughout my life. One wrong sentence or word can stop me from being hired on a job or getting into the right school for college. My writing skills and communicating skills aren’t perfect but they are still good, however they still need work. I will learn skills and talents throughout life to better help get to where I want to be in life. Writers today take good pride in what they write, first because they know people will love it and second they have that ability to communicate. Business and newspapers have to be able to communicate to anyone and everyone that job isn’t for any junky of the street it takes communication and writing to do that job. ReplyDeleteI am going to college in pursuit of a medical degree, so good writing skills are a necessity. In college I would be responsible for multiple papers and articles. Also as a physician writing medical papers would most likely be in my future. In all of these instances proficient writing skills are a must. Many of the papers would be scientific and require clear, concise, and understandable language. Even if a paper of mine isn’t understood completely a reader will gain a general impression of me from my writing style. College professors will be critiquing and analyzing my essays in their classes, therefore good writing is also very important. I can’t think of a single instance in my future life were I won’t need to have skillful writing skills. Writing will follow me for the rest of my life and it is my job to make sure that I am a good writer no matter what the material or subject matter is. Whether I am writing medical papers, essays for scholarships, flyers, or even a status update good writing will be a necessity for me. WC—185
ReplyDeleteCommunication is a huge part in life, and writing is one way to improve in that area. I have probably put off writing more than I should have in the past and now I feel like it is going to come back and haunt me. I’m going to need to know how to write for college. There are going to be so many papers I’m going to have to write. You can never be too good at something and there is always room for improvement. That is true about writing too. You can always get better at it. Right now, scholarships are a big thing that writing essays deals with. You need to be able to write about anything they tell you too. The better you write, the more likely you will get the money. Same thing could be said about a job application. You might have to write a short essay and it could come down to that whether or not you get the job. You never know when else you will use writing. It is always better to be prepared than to go into it blind. Writing is a major form of communication, and everybody can get better at it.

Communication is a big part of our world as a whole. We communicate with other countries to get products and to prevent conflicts. We as a community communicate for every thing, from the casual conversation in your house to the town board meetings. I am going to need writing a ton in the future. At college I will need it when I write essays for classes and to email my teacher for help on homework. I will need writing for work after college. I will need it to get a hold of my employees, since ill be the boss. The boss will need writing for all of the bills. You can’t just send a company a blank check; you have to fill it out yourself. I’ll need it to go to the bank and make deposits of withdrawal funds for my company. I have to fill out a deposit slip to get funds. You will also need to know how to write to start up an undercover counterfeit money production line in your basement. This is how you get rich quick. Then start a mob in the city and control them through email messaging 185
ReplyDeleteRight now, I need to focus on the writing of essays for school assignments, scholarships, and college applications. It is important now in order for me to get good grades, to have a better chance to receive money from scholarships and to better my chance of being accepted into a college of my choice. I plan to open my own vet practice, so I will need to communicate with my future employees to let them know what is going on and to explain things that they will need to do when I am gone. Also, I want to travel to places to check the herd health of not only cattle, but wild game as well. I will need to communicate with these people to set up appointments and figure out pricing and to figure out what kind of job they need to be done. I will definitely need writing in my life in the near future and the distant future for college as well as for the business that I hope to open after graduating college. I also like how the one guy said be careful of what you say because when you write it, it can be printed and cause a lot of problems for you in your career. This point will be important to keep in mind when writing to everyone, not just writing to your coworkers or employees. (WC: 231)
ReplyDeleteI have already gotten a head start on my writing career. Advanced Comp is a class I chose to take my senior year so I could take a step in the right direction regarding my writing skills.
ReplyDeleteMany well paying jobs revolve around email and social media. Employers today expect their employers to possess these skills coming out of high school.
The pressure is on regarding creative writing. Those who take their writing education to the next level will be those who excel above the rest.
Strong communication can be the pinnacle of career advancement. Those with advanced degrees that lack tremendous communication skills will not exceed career goals the way they once did.
We want to communicate with those who can communicate at our level. We can already detect who is at our educational level as we engage in such social media as Facebook or Twitter. Other professionals will feel the same way as they go on to involve themselves in the business world.
Someday I may want to write a business plan. I will, of course, want the banker to be able to engage in my writing and feel the same excitement that I feel in pursuing my business. (201)
Being able to master writing is not just something one should do it is something one must do. Writing is a critical resource for communication and future knowledge. One can only learn to master communication through writing by building on what they already know. This has come to be a realization for me throughout my high school experience and while continue not only with my college education, but also with my career after college. I have been improving my communication skills through finding more concise ways of conveying my ideas in a persuasive manner. This has really helped me with not only my scholarship and admission essay, but my current classes as well. I known that this will be helpful in college because most college work is papers and essays; in which I need to be able to prove my point before the paper puts the professor to sleep. Not only does my future hold many more academic essays, but I will also has to learn to communicate with my co-workers and boss with easy through writing because we are living in a world where face-to-face communication is virtually extinct. Also I want to be able to leave this world knowing that even though my chapter here is coming to a close that my ideas and thoughts will be able to live on forever, and the only way that can happen is through my writings.
